About Me

My photo
Back to the beginning: Price and I met at YHS my freshman (his sophmore) year and dated for the next three years. After Price graduated, he joined the military and was stationed in Beautiful San Diego. Shortly after I graduated, we were married and had our 1st little man on the way: Preston Barrett Walling, born 2/2/07. We bought our 1st home in May 2009 and Little man #2, Ethan Jefferson Walling, followed on 7/29/09. As if life wasn't already crazy enough after that, we welcomed baby boy #3, Maverick Charles Walling on 11/20/2011 and our first girl (and Dog) Lucy in January 2012. We're still in San Diego, living one adventure after another!

Veterans Day Weekend

Wednesday night at about 11pm i picked Price up from the airport. He was comming home for a 4 day weekend for Veterans day. Because of how late we got home, we didn't bother waking the kids up to say hello. So, in the morning when Preston came into our room and saw that Daddy was home...HE FLIPPED!! Preston was so happy that he ran and woke Ethan up and all my boys pow-wowed in our bed. I think every 5 minutes from Thursday to Sunday, i would hear Preston telling Price, "Daddy i'm so happy you're home, i love you so much!" It was really sweet :)

Price is trying to keep this mustache, thing, growing until he finishes school and for some reason i thought it would be HILARIOUS if i gave the boys a little lip decoration to match their daddy...

Preston loved his mustache SOOO much that he fought with me when i tried to clean it off. He wanted to be just like his dad.

There is a dirty and delicious, little restaurant on the end of the Imperial Beach pier that serves HUGE $12.00 burgers and 32 oz beers. We went there for lunch on thursday and enjoyed a little deep fried heaven. Preston, Ethan and I shared some french fries and a grilled cheese sandwhich...really i ate it all though :) In the restaurant, there were pigeons guarding the trash cans...it was pretty gross but it was entertaining to watch them fight over the scraps people threw in there.

As always, I was pretty annoying with all the picture taking, and i think Price had enough because he tried to block every single picture i tried to take of him. I can't help it that i think he is soo good looking and i want to document every minute he is home. Amongst all my failed attempts at getting a pic of him, there was one that had his face in it...so BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Taking pictures of the kids was no difficult task...they are like me and love to ham it up!

Ethan was so happy...i don't think i've ever seem him NOT crying for such a long period of time...i thank the pigeon fights for that.

When the lunch was gone, their reward was a little soda, and they REALLY wanted it!

Unfortunatly, the camera and all four of us could not cooperate at the same time so i was not able to get a picure of all four of us, BUT i did get a pretty cute one of the guys...

Saturday we went to see MegaMind. Preston was an ANGEL but Ethan only made it about 1/2 of the way through the movie before he wanted to get up and walk around, so he and i spend the last hour in the lobby playing around.

When Price and Preston finished the movie, they came out and joined us. All three boys got down on a little video game action...

If only Preston was a little taller...he probably would have had much more fun.

Sunday morning rolled around and @ 5:30 am we had to pile in the car and take Price back to the airport :( (tear) We were all sad, and from then on, ever 5 minutes i heard this from Preston..." Mommy I miss Daddy SSOOOO much, I want Santa to come so Daddy can come back" Aw, it broke my heart.

Only four more weeks and Price will come back home, this time he'll get to stay for an entire 2 weeks!!! Yahoo!!

Dads Visit

Two weekends ago (Nov 5th weekend) my Dad came down from Fresno for a little visit. The weather leading up to that weekend had been CRAZY, (temperatures changing over 20 degrees in a day)But we lucked out and had a really beautiful Saturday and Sunday. We spend the weekend with lazy mornings eating pancakes...

A very stylist trip to the park...

Lunch at the Village Pizzeria on Coronado by the Ferry landing...

...where Preston spend the entire lunch on my cell phone playing games and complaining "are we done YYYEETT???" Again i ask...3 or 13??

After lunch we got a few cupcakes at the Coronado Cupcakery (buy 5 get the 6th FREE...who can pass that up?!?!) Can you guess which one Preston picked out and why?...Here's a hint, think SPIDERMAN!

We had to practically shove a few bites of pasta down Prestons throat so that he could get dessert. Does he look happy to be eating a cupcake??...Notice the very dark grey clouds rolling in? Well it started to get pretty windy and Preston proceeded to run around, literally running in circles, like a crazy person screaming "EVERYBODY LEAVE, it's gonna rain, it's gonna rain!!!" Not at all embarrassing!

No naps that day so when we got home, we relaxed on the couch and watched Toy Story 3 for the 1st of many times...

It was a great weekend. The boys were spoiled with tons of gifts from their Papa and I had more than my fill of great food. As always, after every visit with one of my family members, i was sad to see him go and i can't wait until our next visit :(

Love you Dad and happy early birthday (tommarow!!)

Food Experiment (week 4)

My mom (who recently moved in with us) left for Costa Rica for 6 weeks. With just myself and two very picky boys in the house, i have not been very good about trying new meals. ALSO, i will be going back on a diet starting Nov 15th...so all this yummy food...yeah, it's gonna stop :( :( i'm soooo very sad! But unfortunatly this food is much to blame for the weight gain, (and the halloween candy...and laziness). I have very little self control when it comes to food :( BUT, i was able to get two new, and very easy meals out last week...

#1 - - Veggie Pizza

(Please ignore the VERY used baking sheet, i think it has been in our family since i was born :) )

SOOOO Simple
1st. Spread a store bought pizza crust out on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes.
2nd. Put about 1 1/2 cups Alfredo sauce in a skillet and add a ton of garlic, salt and pepper
3rd. Spread alfredo sauce on top of crust after baking it
4th. Top with lots of monterey jack or mozzarella cheese
5th. Cover with favorite toppings, i used: fresh basil leaves, greek olives, onion, artichoke hearts, and tomato
Final step. Bake about 15 minutes or until every thing looks melted and slightly browned...ENJOY!!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

#2 - - Veggie Panini (notice a trend ;) )

For this i was able to use everything i had from the veggie pizza plus a little extra and it took all of about 5 minutes to out together and was DELICOUS!

1st. Cut a hunk off a loaf of focaccia bread, slice in half
2nd. Spread a little pesto, mayo and some shredded monterey jack cheese on each half of the bread
3rd. Place a few slices of thin sliced turkey on one half
4th. Now pile with your favorite sandwich toppings. I used: pepperchinie, greek olives, artichoke hearts, onion and avocado
5th. Now, i don't have a panini press so i used my WONDERFUL George Foreman grill, (this machine really is fantastic) left it closed for about 6-8 minutes and BAMM! "Dinner is Served" ENJOY!!

Trick OR Treat

Sunday was the day...time for TRICK OR TREATING!!! Halloween is Prestons favorite day of the year, YES it beats out Christmas, (but i dont think by much). So after a long nap, it was time to get dressed up and hit the streets, ring some door bells and hopefully return home with anything but empty pails!

Ethan was my little Garden Gnome...

Preston was the mighty Ironman...

Last minute (literally) i decided to dress up and went as Peter Pan, though most of the kids thought i was Robin Hood...

Ethan wasn't too sure about this whole dressing up thing in the beginning...

Preston had not forgotten a thing from last year, he explained to me "Mommy, all you do is walk up there, ring the door, say TRICK OR TREAT, then get lots of candy, say THANK YOU, HAPPY HALLOWEEN, and then run to the next place" And that is EXACTLY what he did!

Ethan kicked back in the wagon and was really good, but as the night went on, i think he felt he had observed enough and was itching to get out and run along the side walks. He sadly couldn't keep up with the big boys, but my guess is that by next year, Preston will have him in tip top shape and ready to dominate the trick or treating world!

There were a lot of kids out...

Who needs one costume when you can wear two??

Creepy, glow-in-the-dark teeth Preston got from one of the neighbors. He was pretty excited about these until i told him he had two sets of teeth to brush every night now!

Ethan danced anxiously as he waited for Ama to open a sucker...

Nothing like a little game of "catch my money as a throw it in the air" to end the night :)

They were so well behaved the whole night, even with all the sugar and staying up over a hour and a half past their bed times...it was no surprise to me that they PASSED OUT on the drive home!! They're so cute when they're sleeping :) !!!

Thank you to Don and Wendy for being such great hosts, the chili was DELICIOUS! And thank you to Lindsay for tagging along for the sugar induced-Walling boy craziness!

Treats/Daycare Party

It was t-minus 2 days until Halloween, and the boys daycare was having a Halloween party. Well, i'm trying to be a much more creative mother than i usually am, so instead of running to Vons and picking up a few boxes of cookies like i've done in the past...i recruited a little baking helper, and we got to work in the kitchen...

Preston helped stir the cupcake batter...

He cleaned the frosting whisk...

He dipped the rice krispie treats in sprinkles...

We set the cupcake decorations up in advance...

THEN...we started putting everything together...

Here is our rice krispie treat grave sites...

Eyeballs...

Pumpkin patch...

Monsters...

The end results...we were pretty happy with the way they turned out, i have a GREAT little helper!

Costume time!!!

Ethan went to daycare Friday as a Lobster...

Preston dressed as an Astronaut...

Ethan was not so happy to have the camera shoved in his face at 6:30 am but they had a GREAT party!! Preston Could NOT wait for Sunday to roll around!
